The Devil Desires You
The Devil Desires You
Luke 22:31-34; 61-62
Theme: For the Follower of Christ to know that Satan cannot possess the Christian, he can oppress him. The Bible teaches that he can defeat, discourage and devour the child of God. To know there is victory in the redemptive power of God!
Statement of Truth:
The Savior and Satan cannot co-exist in a believer’s life any more than light and darkness can fill the same room.

II. THE MISTAKE OF SIMON v33
• SELF IS SELF-SUFFICIENT

III. THE MERCY OF THE SAVIOR v32

• INTERVENTION v32b
- INSIGHT v32c
Statement of Truth:
As a Christian you can fail without your faith failing
CONCLUSION: According to John 18:15, only Peter and one other had the courage to follow Jesus into the courtyard. Peter fell to a temptation which could only have come to a brave man. Peter was not weak, rather he was a strong man.
Point to Ponder:
I think in his heart Peter meant what he said to the Lord: “ I will die for you.” However, his character was unable to produce the actions his heart wanted to… at least for now!
As I examine the life of Peter I think to myself: you are just like that!
